Ilias Spyridon Efthymiopoulos has diverse and extensive work experience with more than 15 years of continuous presence in the field of IT and cybersecurity, while he currently holds the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Instashop.
He is a graduate of the Department of Informatics and Communications of the School of Technological Applications of the former Technological Educational Institute of Serres (2012), holds a Postgraduate Diploma in the Field of Cybersecurity of the University of West Attica (2021) and from 2022 until today he continues with his Doctoral Studies in the Field of "Information Security and Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, Cyber Threat Intelligence and Risk Management" of the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering of the International Hellenic University.
Additionally, he is also an advisory board member working with the MSc of Cybersecurity at University of West Attica program steering committee, bringing diverse perspectives, expertise and connections to ensure that the program remains innovative and aligned with academic and industry needs.
He is a professional with a strong background in providing support to organizations on the development and strengthening of the information security structure and operational resilience, Privacy and data protection, Security Strategy and Governance, secure development of information systems, Security Operations both Defense and Offense, implementation and application of international standards (ISO 27001, PCS - DSS, NIS2, SOC, GDPR), crisis and emergency management, as well as the continuity of IT services.
At the same time, he is the owner of various certifications from institutions and organizations such as SANS, ISACA, ISC2, CISCO, Proofpoint, Orca Security, AttackIQ, EC-Council, Offensive Security covering a range of topics related to Cybersecurity, Offensive Security, Risk Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence as well as Digital Forensics.
